After speaking to Marianne again I knew I wanted to still focus on the workshop aspect of the project as this is something I wanted more experience in and was comfortable in doing in the amount of time I had.
I spoke to Chris Filby, who runs the Dad’s group at Belle Isle Family Centre who told me that I could go along and run workshops on the 28th of november, 5th november and the 12th of november. I knew my aim was to give the group something back so I wanted to find out about more about what the group do and he told me that the most important focus for him was the idea of giving the dads an opportunity to bond with their children and challenge the way dads are seen in society.
The children in the age group range from babies to 8 years old so the activities planned needed to be interesting and engaging for children of quite a young age bracket.
He also passed on the email of another member of staff who I could potentially work with if the saturday dad’s group hadn’t been possible for me
