The website allows you to customise already created themes, it only took me a matter of minutes to find this one which has a slideshow as a homepage (perfect!!) and a very simple bar of different pages which can be adjusted to whatever you need them to be. I began by changing the colours, removing the existing title, symbol and various other features which I won’t need.
The next stage was to try give the site more of an identity related to the future website, this included a logo. However I really liked the sites really small simple white one and decided it could look good having a small simple white cloud. This didn’t exactly work out, I created what I wanted and made it without a background so it would be transparent on the site… but photoshop had other ideas and added a white background when it was saved. So I tried a black background and wanted to see if the website editor would be able to remove it, had no luck and decided to upload the actual logo and see if that would look any better.
It did and i saw hope with the colour scheme too. But the background of the website was too dark for the logo background and quite frankly didn’t look good. So I changed the background to white.
And it kind of works as a site for mobile devices too, despite the logo being quite small.
I began to play with layout on the computer version and moved the menu to the bottom of the page and the slideshow to the top with the logo on one side in the top corner, but this didn’t work because when the pages were opened there was no x button to exit the page and the menu ended up being hidden behind the slideshow somehow so you couldn’t switch between. As a result I reverted back to the original layout, changed all of the page backgrounds to white as well and now need to create the pages information and slideshow slides.
